This original painting of a model is part of a series challenge to “embrace” the variety of skin tones in the Black race. Once I began this series I wound up with 8 models of different natural hues and all are beautiful in their own right. I chose to put them in modest head gear to better focus on skin tone and not on the hair. So we have from the darkest ebony to lighter than white and they all reflect our culture. It is time to “Embrace” our variety and end the intercultural bias of color.
