Capturing that moment when three gifted friends sit together and create music just for the fun and enjoyment of it all is the premise for this painting. Using my signature style of Plastic Space abstract, I have worked to capture the flow and bright mood of this music as it moves around with the light reflections within this piece. Many symbols of the ancestors from Africa and the South Sea Islands are flowing in the background giving the musicians an intuitive rhythm that comes from the impromptu session. The Njarka, an ancient one stringed instrument along with the Kalimba or thumb piano and the drum create a rhythm of ebb and flow to the delight of the players.
