Sometimes I enjoy going through my sketch book that I keep on hand to sketch out ideas as they occur. As I re-visit the ideas, some jump out at me and I am inspired to use them in a final painting. This is such a case. I remember going to an outdoor concert and jazz musicians were playing on several stages. I went around sketching the musicians as I listened to the wonderful music. I don’t remember the name of this little known elderly guitar player but I was captured by his pose and all white outfit as he played. I painted the ancestor figure behind him giving their blessing to his melody.
